Challenger Films is a non-profit 501(c)3 origination created to produce television programming that will inspire youth to their best – to make wise choices and understand life’s challenges – that if they meet those challenges with faith in God and persevering optimism, they can overcome!
There are many more youth suggested to us who we do not have the money to film. Consider these factors: We have reduced cost of the profiles used on Fox, which is $2000.00 for the reediting with new music and graphics, shorter profiles streamed on YouTube. Twenty-four more profiles will need to be reedited to complete the year.
The Real Winning Edge series airing in national syndication is made up of two 13-week episodes (and run twice for a full year’s media presence – featuring 78 profiles of young achievers and 788 celebrity introducers filmed all over the United States. Stations do not pay for the program, it is donated because it is an Educational Information (E/I rated) show for youth. Per government requirements, all stations must carry 3 ½ hours per week of E/I shows.
To keep the show on the air the series necessitates funding from charitable donations. Due to the amount of time involved in the research it takes to find the appropriate young achievers and their celebrity introducers who contribute their time, finding time to fund the series is very ‘challenging’.
We have recently added the internet platform for the audience we seek to attract – junior high through college. The Real Winning Edge channel on YouTube features three youth from different parts of the country, skilled in different talents with different adversities to overcome.
